Concept 2014
Primary goal of revitalizing the downtown area – a former bus station in Poznań, is creating culture-forming area through design of Museum of Contemporary Art with complementary services. It is assumed that treating culture as a main driving force in the renewal process improves city image and its attractiveness.
An area of nearly four hectares is the former location of the bus station. It creates a possibility of designing new development, that can determine future success of the city image. The plot is located at the junction of the three composition axes. First is the historic urban planning along old fortifications. The second one is along the Wierzbięcice street with compact buildings area and the last one creates line of skyscrapers around the Imperial District.
Project focuses on urban planning that creates public spaces for the proposed plot, which will become diverse cultural space.
Around the work placed in the center, a radial approach system should be created so that it can be perceived in categories that are simultaneously historical, aesthetic, functional, everyday, personal and passionate.

CREATING CULTURAL POINTS IS OF GREAT IMPORTANCE FOR SUSTAINABLE CITY DEVELOPMENT.
Project focuses on urban planning that creates public spaces for the proposed plot, which will become diverse cultural space. Single cultural object is not the center of interest, if the space is unattractive and gives the impression of no man’s land. The need for supporting services is crucial in this project. That’s why, we try to mix different functions as working, shopping, dining, living with culture at our plot. It can offer a wide range of interest for each social group and age.
The architectural design of the museum assumes the existence of psychological element that allows to change emotional state by zoning spaces through system of radial approaches to the builing. The transition from the laud city ( outer zone) to the space that can calm you down is very important. It is essential to create a tension in the viewer thanks to the designed space and building. Then, the overall experience of visiting the museum is remarkable and memorable.
